The Dornerhof has existed in its current form since 2006, but its roots go way back to the 13th century. The farm was first mentioned in a document in 1218. Our two holiday apartments have been available since summer 2024.
Our location:
In the city and yet in the countryside.
The Dornerhof is located directly in Merano. So close to the city centre that you can reach the old town in a short time. So far from the city centre that you can enjoy nature and the view of the surrounding mountains. An ideal starting point for your holiday activities.
In the immediate neighborhood, the gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle (300 metres away) are waiting to be discovered by you. The Sissis Path takes you on a beautiful walk to the historic centre of Merano (2 km). There you can discover the medieval arcades during a shopping spree or relax in the Merano thermal baths (2 km). For active holidaymakers, the Merano 2000 skiing, sledding and hiking area (3 km) offers an attractive range of activities all year round.
You can run your everyday errands at Piazza Fontana (1 km), the centre of Maia Alta district. A pizzeria and the nearest bus stop are directly opposite the farm.

We grow sweet cherries, crunchy apples and juicy grapes on our organic farm. Our cut flower fields are really colourful, and all kinds of tasty things come from our farm garden. This diversity characterises the Dornerhof. Since 2017, we have been working 100 % according to the strict guidelines of the Bioland association – and that with conviction.
We are happy to show you our farm with its diverse tasks and work during our weekly farm tour. We look forward to welcoming you!
Straight from the Dornerhof!
In our small farm shop you will find various organic farm products. The changing range includes apple juice, syrups, fruit spreads, dried fruit and herbal teas. Eggs from our hens and seasonal fruit and vegetables from our farm garden round off the choice of products. Enjoy the products during your stay or take them home with you as a holiday souvenir.
Our contribution to your sustainable holiday.
Our farmhouse has been awarded the “ClimateHouse Class A” seal of approval. Thick walls provide excellent insulation, large triple-glazed windows let in plenty of sunlight and controlled ventilation ensures a pleasant climate. Thanks to our photovoltaic system, we produce our own electricity. This means you can enjoy 300 days of sunshine a year in Merano and charge your e-bike or e-car sustainably.
Lisa & Florian - your hosts with green fingers and their hearts in the right place.
Here at the Dornerhof, agriculture and hospitality come together. Florian was born with both. He pursues his passion as a farmer with enthusiasm. Lisa brings her experience as a trained gardener and globetrotter to the family business. Together with their two children and grandma Hildegard, they make the Dornerhof an unforgettable place and your holiday home.
